Research Topic: Evaluating the Potential of Dietary Prune to Reduce Chemotherapy Induced Bone Loss
Research Poster Located in the Neighborhood Engagement Centers
Research Summary:
Jacqueline investigated the potential of prunes to counteract bone loss caused by chemotherapy. She studied mice treated with various chemotherapy drugs and compared bone density in those fed prunes to those on a regular diet. Results showed that prunes significantly reduced bone loss caused by certain chemotherapy drugs but not others. This suggests that prunes may be a promising dietary intervention to protect bone health in cancer patients undergoing specific chemotherapy treatments.
