Undergraduate Research Ambassador Selected as EuroScholar Participant
Katie Edwards is a 2017-2018 Undergraduate Research Ambassador with the Office of Undergraduate Research was selected as a EuroScholars participant. She will graduate with the class of 2019, with majors in psychology (Social Science) and comparative cultures and politics (James Madison).
Katie will be in Switzerland at the University of Geneva from February to June, working with the Neuroscience of Emotion and Affective Dynamics (NEAD) lab. She will be working on the Alliage Project which studies the "behavioral and neural processes underlying the interpersonal processes that make music performance and listening such a unique experience."
In her role, she will be working with participants, helping organize the study, working EEG and fMRI machines, writing and applying for grants, and doing data analysis. Later in the spring, she will be going to conferences and presentations for the project. Katie also hopes to go to Paris, France, to work on the DEMOS project, a longitudinal study. Her role in the project would involve recruiting underprivileged adolescents from Paris into music ensembles.
